Stochastic Analysis of Cooperative Satellite-UAV Communications

This paper considers a dual-hop cooperative satellite-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication system including satellite (S) and group of cluster headers (CHs) which are respectively with uniformly distributed UAVs. Specifically, the CHs serve as decode-and-forward relays to forward information transmitted by S Moreover, free-space optical (FSO) radio frequency (RF) technologies adopted over S-CH CH-UAV links exploit high directivity FSO long-distance transmission omnidirectional coverage ability RF. The positions in three-dimensional space follow Matérn hard-core point processes type-II, each CH cannot be closer another less than predefined distance. Three different cases considered during performance modeling: interference-free, interference-dominated, interference-and-noise. Then, link aforementioned three is studied closed-form analytical expressions probability (CP) both two derived. Additionally, asymptotic for CP interference-free case Finally, numerical results provided validate our proposed models thus some meaningful conclusions achieved.
